GreenPower

Now, more than ever, we are confronted with the realities of global warming and climate change as a result of our society's use of conventional energy. Since its inception, PowerServe has invested in research and development of alternative and sustainable power sources.

Our subsidiary company, Green Power Pty Ltd, has been developing such technologies at its Paterson base since December 2004 and is actively working with various stakeholders towards the provision of a sustainable alternative.

Green Power is seeking to assist the Sustainable Energy Development Authority of NSW (SEDA), the wider communities of New South Wales and especially the local communities within the Hunter and Paterson Valleys, to reduce the level of greenhouse gas emissions in the state. Green Power aims to reduce levels of green house gas emissions through harnessing the power of wind and converting it to electrical energy using wind turbines. Green Power is looking to establish and expand the sustainable practice of wind farming initially within the Hunter Region and off the east coast of Australia, with great interest from Indonesia providing additional incentive. Every kWh of electricity produced by a renewable source such as wind, displaces one kWh of electricity that would have otherwise been generated by fossil fuel and reduces greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere.

In an effort to stimulate further investment in renewable energy projects, the NSW State Plan (issued in December 2006) calls for 15% of electricity in NSW to be sourced from renewable energy projects. Green Power Pty Ltd is an ideal example of the NSW Governments intentions in this regard and provides an opportunity to declare its intentions about renewable energy and the need to protect our future today.
